TAFY dancers, family, and friends are welcome to join us for the Independence Day Parade in Juneau, Alaska on July 4, 2025!
We are excited to participate in the Juneau 4th of July Parade again this year! AEL&P has donated the use of a large truck and trailer, so we will be rolling in style! We have decided to go with a float decked out in TAFY colors: Teal, Purple, Silver & Black! It is FREE to participate! You do not need to be enrolled in TAFY classes to participate. All ages are welcome to join us! Ages 7 and younger must have an adult with them.
We ask that you wear the following:
ONLY TAFY colors: Teal, Purple, Silver, & Black (this includes jackets, hats, and other outer wear)! White & Grey accents are also ok.
Black leggings or pants
Comfortable Shoes for walking
Hair & makeup can be done any way you like

AEL&P has offered to host a float decorating party On July 2nd from 5:30-8:00 pm. We will be meeting at the the AEL&P Warehouse @ 5221 Stark Street. This is an indoor garage/ heated space! Drive past Jerry’s Meat on the end of the Western Auto building, turn right at the Alaska Waste office. Drive down the dirt road, and go through the gate. Please bring any materials in studio colors you think we can use in our float. We are also collecting candy to give out during the parade. The more the merrier, so feel free to donate a bag! Our favorite is any kind of taffy! We will have a potluck, decorate the float, and have a blast together!
On July 4th, we will meet in the parking lot next to Cycle Alaska (the bright red building by the Douglas bridge) at 8:00 am to prepare for judging. (If you'd like to come earlier, we will be there by 7:00). Judging for our group begins at 8:00 am. The parade begins at 11.
We will not be doing the Douglas Parade this year.
